Hassan, 11 Aug 2013: The need of the hour is to have a third front other than BJP and Congress, said Rajya Sabha member and CPI (M) politburo member Sitaram Yechury.
Yechury was speaking during the state level seminar that was organized on the valedictory function of weeklong study camp that was organized by CPI (M) at M K Convention Hall, located nearby Sakleshpur Road, Tannirhall, here.
Congress is hurrying to introduce Food Security Bill to get leverage on the forthcoming general elections, by distributing rice at lowest rate, alleged Yechury. He further said that the food security will not take place by mere introducing the Bill and distributing 25 kilograms of rice. If a minimum of 35 kilograms of rice is distributed the price that prevailed at 65 percent will rise to 95 percent. If the union government takes earnest interest in making a breakthrough 2G spectrum scam, the nation will have food security for at least 10 years. The nation will achieve further development, if the rich are not allowed to become richer and poor to become poorer.
CPI (M) state Committee secretary G V Srirama Reddy, V J K Nair, G N Nagaraj, V Sukumar, Dharmesh, Naveen Kumar, G P Satyanarayan and others were present at the occasion.
