Hassan, 06 Aug 2013 : The staff of state-owned KSRTC depot reportedly assaulted a rural student, when he had gone enquire about the bus services to his village, here on Sunday August 4 evening. The injured student was admitted in the district Hospital by his friends.
Vijay Kumar, son of Puttaswamy, a native of Chigalli village that comes under the limits of Shanti gram panchayat who is studying in II PUC at Government Arts College, here had gone to enquire about bus service to his native village with KSRTC depot traffic controller Subba Achar, when other bus drivers and conductors numbering 12 persons, dragged Vijay Kumar into their room and seriously assaulted. Vijay collapsed on the floor, when one of them hit hard on his left ear. Since Vijay was assaulted in a closed room, none of the passengers realized of the incident.
Meanwhile, some friends of Vijay Kumar rushed to the depot and took him to government Hospital, who informed them to take Vijay to Mysore for specialty treatment as his ear drum was damaged. The poor family of Vijay who are daily wagers cannot bear medical expenses.
K R Puram police registered a case in this regard.
When this media person contacted Narayanaswamy, deputy controller of KSRTC, he said that he has information about Vijay Kumar and has no idea about the assault. However, he assured that the actions will be taken on those erring staff, provided Vijay’s family lodges complaint, said Narayanaswamy.
