Hassan, Jun 18: BJP activists staged protest rally against the Congress led state administration for hiking the bus fares of KSRTC here on Tuesday June 17.
The protesters held a rally from district headquarter passing through N R Roundabout, B M Road and concluded at district headquarter.
The protesters alleged that the common folks are further burdened with 10.5 percent bus fares hike of state-run transport. The people are distressed over hike in prices of most essential commodities due to union government. They urged the authorities to reduce the bus fare at the earliest.
The protesters urged the state administration to implement the project of distributing rice at Rs 1 per kilograms to BPL card holders that was assured by Congress in their manifesto.
The protesters alleged that CM Siddarmaiah assured of issuing licenses to open liquor shops which would further increase the alcoholics and disharmony in families/
BJP district president M S Krishne Gowda, urban development Authority former chairman Navile Annappa, S Manjunat Sharma, Lohit Gowda, B M Bhuvanaksha, A P Natesh Kumar, Prasanna Kumar and others were present at the occasion.
