Bangalore, Jun 13: Mangalore south MLA J R Lobo urged the state administration to reinvestigate statewide church-attacks that had occurred during the earlier BJP-led regime in Karnataka.
Speaking during the cabinet meeting here on Wednesday June 12, MLA Lobo said that the report presented by Justice Somashekar Commission is biased and urged for reinvestigation to bring out the truth, said MLA Lobo.
‘The report has no mention about those persons, organizations, the politicians who were behind church-attacks. None of them were punished. The reinvestigation is essential to get back the trust of people on state regime,’ urged MLA Lobo.
Mangalore has its own brand image that was tarnished by moral policing creating terror among the citizens. The need of the hour is to put an end to extremes of youth in the guise of moral policing, added MLA Lobo.
The BJP-led state administration has saffronized the curriculum that has to be withdrawn to bring secularism by forming a new curriculum Committee with highly motivated educational experts, stressed MLA Lobo.
