Udupi, 13 Jun 2013: St Mary’s College, Shirva, near here organized condolence meet on Wednesday June 12, for eighty-year-old Fr Henry Castelino, who was the architect of the same College where he had served as principal from 1981 to 1991. Fr Henry passed away in a private hospital at Mangalore on Tuesday June 11.
The senior College lecturer Ronald Moras in his condolence message said that Fr Henry was a loving and disciplined principal who earned the trust of students by his good deeds. He helped many poor students by contributing money from of his salary.
The lecturer Dr Ganesh Bhat and the College principal Professor Rajan V N said that Fr Henry created educational revolution in Shirva, by constructing a magnificent building through the contributions of Alma matter and general public.
The College correspondent Fr Stany Tauro in his presidential address said that Fr Henry is immortal in the history of St Mary’s College because of his great contributions. He will be the inspiration for all, said Fr Tauro.
The College governing council member Norbert Machado, Violet D’Almeida, lecturers, staff and others were present at the occasion.
