Udupi,11 Mar 2013: At the joint auspices of Bala Vikas Samanvaya Samiti, Anganawady Kendra – Bantakal and Rotary Club – Shirva, International Women’s Day celebrations were held at Shirva near here on Friday March 9.
Udupi ZP member Ida Gilbert D’Souza inaugurated the programme.
The city lawyer Amrutakala Chandrashekar was the resource person, offered information on human rights and legal services.
Shirva gram panchayat vice president Shalet Deepak D’Souza, Shirva Rotary president Mathias Lobo, Kaup block women Congress president Geetha Wagle were present at the dais.
Anganawady teacher Vinaya who was celebrating her birthday on the same day, donated a water filter to the children’s nursery.
Stree Shakti self-help-groups president Mallika Gayatri, Rotary secretary S Panduranga Kamat, designated president Leo Noronha was present at the dais.
Each women participant was honoured with mementoe.
