Karate students from Belle shine in the 23rd State Level Inter Dojo Karate Championship

Udupi, 04 Jan 2013: The 23rd State Level Inter Dojo Karate Championship-2012 of Institute of Karate and Allied Arts was held on 29th & 30th December 2012 at Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple Hall, Kudroli, Mangalore. This championship was organized jointly by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Dojo and Ujjodi dojo under the leadership of Sensei Kishore B and Sensei Ganesh K., under the guidance of Shihan Balakrishna Alva, Asst. Chief Instructor.

 

From Moodubelle dojo 10 people participated in the tournament and won 8 prizes. The details are as below

 

• Satish Kumar won first place in Kata  in the black belt category and first place in Kumite in the black belt 60 to 65 kg category
• Nagesh Acharya won second place in the black belt Kumite, 55-60 kg category
• Ashlyn Venitia D’souza won Second place in Female Brown Belt Kata  and second place in Female Brown Belt Kumite category
• Christon Aranha won Second place in Male green to purple Belt kata category
• Araan D’souza won third place in Male brown  belt kumite category
• Elton Simon won third place in Male brown belt kumite category

Satish Kumar, Robin J Martis and Nagesh Acharya were the official referees from Modubelle 
All these students are practicing this form of martial art in Lions Bhavana, Moodubelle under the guidance of Satish Kumar and assisted by Robin J Martis, Delson Joy D’Souza and Nagesh Acharya. The classes are conducted on every Saturday and Sunday in Lions Bhavana at 4:30 PM
