Moodubelle, 24 Dec 2012: Like previous year, Christmas was celebrated in St. Lawrence Composite PU College on Monday, December 24, 2012 at 10 am. The programme began with the prayer song by the students. Devdas Hebbar, president of the Old Students’ Asociation and Alphonse K. Alva Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council were the guests. Principal Fr. Paul Sequeira and Senuir Teacher Mrs. Hilda Aranha were also on the dais.
Miss Jane Sweedol Lobo of Second PUC Commece spoke about the various things associated with the celebration of the Christmas feast. Mr. Devdas Hebbar spoke about the importance of the Christmas feast and qualities of Jesus Christ to be imbibed by all. He also spoke about the significance of the Christmas Crib. He wished everyone present a happy Christmas.
The vote of thanks was followed by the cultural programme. The students presented songs, dances and skits associated with Christmas. The brothers of the Assissi Nilaya who are the students of the PU College had taken a lead in presenting the cultural programme on this occasion.
As December 24 happened to be the birthday of Mrs. Jacintha Lobo, lecturer of Commerce in the PU College, the Principal, guests and the staff and students wished her ‘Happy Birthday’. She sponsored the cake that was distributed to all following the end of the programme.
The beautiful Christmas Crib in the quadrangle was prepared by Stanis Lopez, College Pupil Leader, Vivian Joy and Paulos.
The principal, Fr. Paul Sequeira wished happy Christmas and joyful New Year 2013 to all staff members and students.
