The Vedic texts and holy chanting are summarized for peace among the nations and brotherhood. The TV channels have telecast terrified people in America built bunkers fearing end of the world. The ancient Indian culture lays emphasis on praying for global peace, said intellect and Tulu folk art scholar K L Kundantaya.
Kundantaya was speaking during worship of Goddess Durge which was held as part of Vedic rites that is underway for global peace and brotherhood at Parasurameshwar temple, Kutyar, near here on Thursday December 20.
Rotary district assistant governor Manohar Rao was the chief guest of the occasion.
Vidwan Shambudas welcomed the gathering. Jagannat Bhandary Harekala compered the programme.
The unison chanting of Gayatri mantra was held after the stage programme.
