Manipal, 12 December 2012(TNN): For students and staff of Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGSHA), Christmas celebration will start next week itself.
They will start baking cakes to distribute among faculties of various institutions of Manipal University from next week. They will prepare about 200 kg of cake.
The staff and students had mixed dry fruit to be used for baking the cakes a few days ago.
Parvadhavaridhini Gopal Krishnan, principal of WGSHA told TOI that for hotel management students Christmas is a very important festival because it is celebrated in all hotels across the world. "Students should know about the traditions related to the festival. We are following the traditional way of baking the cake by fermenting dry fruits with rum and brandy," he added. The Christmas celebrations will be held on December 22 in the college as December 25 will be a holiday.
As part of the festival a team of 20 students will sing carols. Students have already installed an eight-feet tall Christmas tree on WGSHA campus.
