Moodubelle, 16 Sep 2012: As part of the Small Christian Community (SCC) since last year the practice of observing Monthi Festh at the Ward level was introduced to highlight the importance of the religious as well as cultural feast of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary. The practice has continued this year as well. In St. Thomas II Ward, the Monthi Festh at the Ward level was observed in the house of Ignatius Monis on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 4 pm.
At the outset, Ignatius Monis in his introductory note highlighted the need to observe the Monthi Festh at the ward level and welcomed the ward members and sisters from the Loreto Convent-Sr. Davidhika and Sr. Monthi Leetha.
Mrs. Thereza Alva, Gurkarn of the ward conducted the prayer service. Thereafter the elders as well as children offered flowers to Mother Mary accompanied by the hymn “Sakkad Sangatha Mellyam…” Thereafter children with flower baskets showered flowers on the statue of Mother Mary accompanied by the hymn “Moriyek Hogolshiyam…”
Vorn mixed with powdered new paddy corn was distributed to the ward members. Few games were conducted for the adults and children.
Sr. Monthi Leetha in her message on the occasion said that Mother Mary by her humility and selfless service became the mother of Jesus and she was exalted by God.
