Belman, 05 September 2012: K. Laxmikanth Bhat, the Headmaster of Nandalike Govt Higher Primary School has been honoured with the ‘Best Teacher State Award’. He will be receiving this award today 5th September 2012 in Bangalore during the Teacher’s Day Celebrations. Before this he has been honoured with Best Teacher Award at Cluster level, Taluk level and District level. Nandalike Higher Primary School has a history of 60 years, located near Belman in Karkala.
K. Laxmikanth Bhat born on 26th July 1955 to Kemmannu Govinda Acharya and Bhavani Amma who are from Nitte. He has his primary and higher secondary school in Kemmannu and Nitte and then in Govt P.U. College Belman. Then had the teachers training Sri Basaveshwara Vidyavardhaka Sangha Teachers Training Institute Bagalkot.
Beginning his teaching career in Gonala Govt School Mudde Bihala of Bijapur district, after 11 years got transferred to Koranja Govt School near Beluvayi, Karkala. After serving for 3 years there in 1994 he continued his service in Nandalike Govt School.
With his personality and leadership he has succeeded in organizing the basic facilities in all the three schools that he served. Nandalike School which belongs to Belman Circle Central School where he serves now has got all the facilities necessary. In 2012 May this school had its decennial celebrations in a grand manner. Academically also this school is doing good and has been in 1st rank continuously for the last 5 years.
K. Laxmikanth Bhat has been also serving as the Chief Secretary for the Govt School Teachers Association Udupi since many years. He played a key role in resolving the issues of additional teachers. Keeping a close contact with the Education department and the peoples representatives, he has been successful in fulfilling the demands of the additional teachers.
K. Laxmikanth Bhat’s wife Rajeshwari S. V. Raman is In Charge of the Karkala Women and Children Welfare Department.
