Kundapura, 25 August 2012: “Saligrama Dr Kota Shivarama Karantha Children’s Literary Foundation has developed a sense of belonging in the children of the area. It has helped the kids to venture into the literary world of kids’ heart beats,” said Ms Arpita Purohit, 9th grade student of Kota Viveka Girls High School. She was presiding over the annual day celebrations of Children’s Foundation jointly organized by Udupi Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat.
The function was held at Gudmi Vedic Science Institute’s Vedic Ashram. Ashram chief executive and Udupi District Kannada Sahitya Parishat president delivered the introductory speech.
Kundapura Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat secretary Mr. K. G. Vaidya released the booklets written by junior writers Ms Ashwini Prabhu’s “Kanasu”, Ms Suvrita Adiga’s “Savi Kannada”, Ms Shradha’s “Deepa” and Ms Sumangala’s “Vidyadayini”. He also wished them success.
Vedic Science Institute’s Vedamurthy Shri Satyanarayana Upadhyaya honoured and blessed Ms Arpita Purohit. Shrajana read out the citation letter.
Junior writers Kirthi, Sharanya, Shana, Anjani, Nishmitha, Sudarshan, Pratheeksha, Kishore, Sumangala, Adithya, Dravyashree, Vrinda Upadhyaya, Rakshita, Sumanta Madhyastha, Shradha Upadhyaya, Anirudh, Swathi, Divya, Suvrita Adiga, Mahima, Kishore Hebbar, Ashwini Prabhu, Scanda, Pavithra, Chaithra, Sharanya and other students of the area recited and shared the poems, stories etc. written by them.
State award winning teacher Perampally Narashinha Aithal demonstrated his one man acting while Rama sang emotional songs. Ashwini Prabhu sang the emotional songs in the reverse order and thus entertained the participants. Teacher Nagesh Mayya did the story telling.
Kota Viveka Girls High School Principal Mr. Shripathy Herle, English Medium High School Principal Mr. Ramdev Aithal and Gundu Upadhyaya were also present. While Ms Ashwini Prabhu compeered Ms Vrinda Upadhyaya thanked the participants.
