Mangalore, 25 Aug 2012: The year long celebrations of 25 years of presence of women students in St Aloysius Campus, concluded on August 24, Friday.
Dr Ruth Manorama, President of the National Alliance of Women who spoke as a chief guest, regretted the fact that gender based discrimination still continued even when women stand on equal footing with men in various spheres.
On the recent home stay attack in Mangalore, she suggested holding an enquiry by an independent committee.
Fr Joseph Rodrigues, Rector, St Aloysius Institutions presided over the function. Fr Swebert D’Silva, Principal, St Aloysius College, Fr Francis Almeida, Vice Principal and others were present on the occasion‘Aloysia’ a book shedding light on the 25 years of women students in the campus, was released on the occasion.
