Belman, 04 July 2012: In the processes of widening of Padubidri – Karkala Road, the huge trees of three to four hundred years old have been cut down and were lying on either side of the roads. The trees were then cut into pieces and left as they are. As these huge tree pieces were covering part of the streets and blocking the pedestrian access, it was causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and the school students.
Seeing this problem caused by the tree pieces which were in front of Belman St. Joseph Primary and High School, Karkala Taluk Panchayath Member Xavier D’Mello took initiative and organized to move these dumped tree pieces aside using JCB machine and cleared the access. A relief now to the pedestrians and students, as they can walk through without hindrance.
