Udyavara, 29 June 2012: In this rainy season now days the traffic is gets jammed on Udyavara bridge at National Highway 66 frequently. In one side the people have to experience the inconvenience and another side the local Police have to struggle to ease the jammed traffic. On Thursday morning the traffic was obstructed on the Udyavara bridge for about one and half hour because of the tire puncture of a lorry on the bridge.
As the lorry had the tire punctur and stopped on the middle of the bridge the vehicles on both sides of the bridge were lined up since the road is narrow. The waiting vehicles lined up for about one kilometer on either side, hence controlling both the vehicles and the public had become a big headache for the police.
Though the Kaup Police Station Inspector and the crew came to the spot immediately after the incident, the easing of the lined up traffic was a tough work. That too at 9.30 am in the morning the traffic is peak with office goers and the express buses who were restless because they are getting late.
Another bridge which is adjacent to this bridge is under construction in a slow pace and hence the two way traffic on the single bridge is increasing. However, until the four lane highway construction work is completed these traffic jams will be repeating often, say the daily travelling passengers.
