Katpadi, 21 June 2012: In the overall development of the rural Educational Institutions, the role of Old Students is most important one and they will have to actively participate with the Institutions, said udupi Jilla Panchayath President Katpadi Shankara Poojary, who was speaking upon inaugurating the program of the Golden Anniversary of Katpadi SVS Old Students Association at the SVS P.U. College Auditorium.
Old Student and Hon President of the Golden Anniversary Committee President Dr. A. Ravindranath Shetty presided over the program and in his address he said that, the SVS Old Students Association which is popular, has started the afternoon hot meal to students about 20 year ago and has formed itself as a successful association.
SVS Vidyavardhaka Association Correspondent Ratnakara Kini released the Golden Anniversary Magazine. On this occasion on behalf of the Association Kannada – English dictionary was distributed to 200 students.
Old Student Association former President Shrikara Suvarna, College Principal Dayananda Pai, SVS High School Headmaster C. Prabhakar were the chief guests. Taluk Panchayath members Shrikar Anchan, Katpadi Rotary President elect Jagadish Kamath, Jagannath Kote, JCI former Zonal President Harischandra Amin, Katpadi JCI President Sunil Bangera, Old Students Association members Mahesh Shenoy, Ashok Rao, Udayakumar, Sushil Bolar, Santhosh Kumar, Udaykumar, Treasurer Mahesh Anchan were present on the occasion.
Association President Prem Kumar welcomed the guests and the gathering. N.G. Sukumar compeered the program. Secretary Raghavendra Rao proposed vote of thanks.
