Kundapur,14 June 2012: Rev. Fr. Anil D’Souza who arrived to the Holy Rosary Church, Kundapur as the new parish priest and Dean of Kundapur Deanery was accorded a warm welcome by the parishioners of the Holy Rosary Church and representatives from other parishes of the Deanery on Sunday, June 10, 2012.
Later, the formality of the transfer of the responsibility to the newly appointed parish priest was undertaken in the presence of the representative of the Bishop of Mangalore, Rev. Fr. Stany B. Lobo, Dean of Kalyanpur Deanery. The outgoing parish priest, Rev. Fr. Albna D’Souza handed over stole, Bible, key of the Tabernacle and the account books to the incoming parish priest Rev. Fr. Anil D’Souza.
Former parish priest, Rev. Fr. Alban D’Souza acquainted the new parish priest, Rev. Fr. Anil D’Souza about the parish of Holy Rosary and wished him well. Rev. Fr. Stany B. Lobo wished well to both Fr. Alban D’Souza who will be taking charge of the parish of Nirkan in Bantewal Deanery and Fr. Anil D’Souza.
Rev. Fr. Anil D’Souza, a native of Shirva had served 22 years as a priest in many parishes. Speaking to the parishioners of Holy Rosary Church, Fr. Anil said that he would dedicate his time and energy in serving the people and asked for their cooperation in fulfilling some of the important projects of the parish.
The programme was attended by Fr. Pravin martis, Principal of St. Mary’s Junior College, Fr. Ronald D’Souza, Director of Catholic Yuva Sangha of Mangalore Diocese and Fr. Clifford D’Souza, former parish priest of Holy Rosary Church as well as a number of priests from the Kundapur Deanery, sisters and a large number of parishioners.
Michel Braganza, the vice president of the Parish Pastoral Council welcomed the gathering and the programme was compeered by Secretary, Dr. Soni D’Costa.
