Udupi, 13 April 2012: Udupi city Police have succeeded in arresting the accused killers of a murder case in a house in Katte Acharya Marga Udupi. A lorry worker Basavanthappa (Manava) who was staying in a vacant old house of Shoukat Ali, was killed on Sunday and fled. Now the accused Prabhu Shankarappa Bhangi Gowda (40) from Haveri Taluk Devihosur Grama and Parvin Toppo (23) from Jarkand State, Simdega district, Chirotoli Grama have been arrested.
These accused have left their homes 4 – 5 years ago. Without going to their native places they were wandering in places and here they were living in Krishna Mutt, bus stop and in places wherever they used to work. Police have received information that on the day of the murder these accused were in the premises of the old house where Basavanthappa was staying and succeeded in arresting them. The district court has issued their judicial custody until 25th April.
Udupi Circle Inspector S.V. Grirish along with Station PSI Sampath Kumar and Madhu T.S. had conducted this operation and along with them their team consisting of ASI Narasimha Shetty, Krishna Samaga, Ravichandra, Santhappa, Chandra Shetty, Vijaya, Thomson, Mohana Kotwal, Krishnaprasad, Sudhir, Laxman, Khadir, Suresh and Sudhakar have coordinated.
