District Administration Celebrate Dr. Ambedkar Jayanthi

Udupi, 16 April 2012: Among those saints and great personalities who dedicated their lives for the people who were exploited, the architect of the constitution Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is the greatest one. With great difficulties he managed to have his education at the time the education was not available to the Dalits and such a personality is an inspiration to the Dalits and those who are exploited, opinioned Jilla Panchayath President Katpadi Shankara Poojary.

 

 
He was speaking upon inaugurating the 121st birthday celebration of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on Saturday. The program was presided over by local MLA K. Raghupathi Bhat. Taluk Panchayath President Devadasa Hebbar, Municipal Council President Kiran Kumar, Jilla Panchayath Social Sthayi Samiti President Upendra Nayak were the chief guests. Thenkanidiyoor College Kannada Lecturer Jayaprakash Shetty gave a special lecture on Dr. Ambedkar.

 
Deputy Commissioner Dr. M.T. Reju, Police Superintendent Dr. M.B. Boralingayya, Jilla Panchayath Chief Officer S.M. Prabhakara Sharma, Tashildar Abhijin, Municipal Commissioner Gokuldas Nayak were on the dias. District Social Welfare Officer Dr. M.T. Manjunath welcomed the guests and the gathering. On this occasion Maruthi Omni cars from Social Welfare Department were handed over to the deserved candidates from the backward community by Jilla Panchayath President Katapadi Shankara Poojary.
