Udupi. 05 March 2012: He delivered newspapers to houses, worked in Udupi Court canteen, worked as the sales executive for coin boxes, did centring – flooring works, also worked in garage – service station, in spite of acute poverty he completed his law degree and this young man now wants to enter into politics and become the people’s representative.
He is Asadulla Katpadi, son of late Mohammed Ali of Indira Nagar, Kote Grama, contesting the Udupi – Chickmagalur by election as an Independent candidate. Being just 26 years of age, he is the youngest among all the candidates.
Though Asadulla is professionally a lawyer, he is also into journalism. I am contesting this election to highlight that the youth should get representation in politics. Though I am not sure of winning, I am contesting to show that the politics is not just for the rich and that anyone like me can contest the election, he said.
