Udupi, 05 March 2012: JDS contesting in Udupi – Chickmagalur Lokasabha by election has made BJP win easier, said BJP State President K.S. Eshwarappa. On the occasion of election campaign by walk in part of Udupi city, he was speaking while addressing the news conference. JDS candidate will be sharing the anti BJP votes with Congress, hence BJP will benefit from it, so BJP will definitely win and will get more votes than the last time, he said.
Brushing aside the accusation from Congress that, Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda has made secret agreement with Deve Gowda to defeat Congress, Eshwarappa said that, since there is triangular competition here, BJP win becomes easier. Even if JDS did not contest, BJP was ready for the direct contest with Congress and would have won, so there is no question of any secret agreement, he said.
The differences within BJP party has no relation with the election result. Like all the other political parties there are differences within BJP and from these internal issues, the party workers will not get diverted. Among the Udupi – Chickmagalur 8 constituencies, 7 are in the hands of BJP. Both district Jilla Panchayaths, Taluk Panchayaths, Municipality and many Grama Panchayaths are all in the hands of BJP. So no one can stop BJP winning and this result is the indication for the forthcoming Vidhanasabha – Lokasabha elections, he said.
In the news conference Kaup Vidhanasabha In charge Ananthakumar, BJP District President Udaykumar Shetty, Chief Secretaries; Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde and Shyamalaka Kunder, Jilla Panchayath President Katpadi Shakara Poojary and others were present.
