Shirva, 26 February 2012: In the modern world, among all the donations, the blood donation is the greatest one, because it will save life and also can save a family. It will cultivate good nature in which the cast and creed are forgotten and humanity and generous characters are developed. So every healthy person must donate blood at least once in a year, said Manipal Kasturba Medical Hopital Blood Bank Division Director Dr. Sudha Bhat.
She was speaking upon inauguration of the annual blood donation camp held in Shirva St. Maris College, jointly organized by Indian Red Cross Organization, N.S.S. Unit, N.C.C. Unit and Shirva Lions Club. Shirva Lions Club President Ronald Minezes inaugurated the camp. Rev. Fr. Gracious Alwaris Parish Priest of the Church presided over the inaugural function and conveyed his best wishes. Principal Dr. J.C. Miranda welcomed the guests and the gathering. Lion Norbert Machado proposed vote of thanks. Ashila compeered the program. Lions Secretary Gregory Fernandes, N.S.S. Project Officer Prof. Ronald Joseph Moras, Red Cross Director Prof. Ratnavati Leena Ferrao were present.
