Moodubelle, 24 December 2011: The students and staff of St. Lawrence Composite PU College celebrated Christmas in the college auditorium on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at 10 am. Shivram Salian, member of the Belle Grama Panchayat attended the programme as the chief guest. Fr. Paul Sequeira, Principal of the PU College presided over the programme. Mrs. Hilda Aranha, senior teacher of the high school was also on the dais.
Following the prayer and welcome by the PU College lecturer Larsen D’Souza, Mrs. Hilda Aranha in her introductory address highlighted the importance of the celebration of Christmas. Shivram Salian in his speech expressed happiness to be part of the Christmas celebration along with the students. Fr. Paul Sequeira extended the greetings of the Christmas and New year 2012 to every one present in the auditorium.
The students of both high school and PU College presented songs, tableau, skits and dances that are appropriate for the Christmas spirit. The PU students of Assisi Nilaya presented carol singing through melodious voice. Tableau by the high school students depicted the birth of Jesus. The skit spread the message of Christmas and the PU girl students presented a Konkani song and also a dance.
