Udupi, 10 December 2011: Gold – Silver Jewellery workers Association submitted a petition to Superintendent of Police on Thursday, urging him for taking immediate action on the difficulties they are facing due to the increased robberies in the city. The case of robbery of Shriraj Jewellery in Parkala of rupees 9 lakhs worth of jewellery in November is still not resolved.
Also, some of the jewellery workers who are members of the association have been harassed by the polices on the accusation that they are in possession of the robbed jewellery and as a result they have lost their jobs and people look at them suspiciously. So all these issues are to be resolved, appealed Association President Rajesh Acharya Ambagilu.
On this occasion Association Secretary Jayaprakash Acharya, Treasurer Dinesh Acharya, Yuvaka Mandala President Kishore Acharya, Association Legal Consultant Gangadhara Acharya, Raviraj Acharya Parkala, Office Bearers and members of the association were present.
