Mangalore, 26 April 2010: Mayor Rajani Dugganna inaugurated the Great Indian Shopping Festival at Big Bazaar in the city on Monday.
The festival in its second edition, is being celebrated in all the outlets of the Future Group that includes Food Bazaar, Central, Home Town and eZone besides Big Bazaar.
Speaking on the occasion, Store Manager Vinod Subramanian of Mangalore Big Bazaar informed that they have lined up various in-store activities and will run offers and deals with discounts for the customers.
The bumper prizes include cars, bikes, gift hampers, international holiday packages etc. Gifts are assured for every purchase above Rs 2,000. Passbooks and chidiyas will be issued to customers when they shop for Rs 500 and above and they can be collected for assured gifts, he said.
The competitions that will be held in the store include quiz, fancy dress, drawing, singing, dancing and individual talent, treasure hunt, jumble words etc for children. There will also be fashion makeovers, mehandi activity and a section for skin and hair tests and tips in the store, he added.
Cine and Drama artist Devdas Kappikkad, MD of Bharath Builders Ananth Pai and President of IMA Mangalore Unit Dr Mohandas Bhandary were present at the inaugural function.
The festival will go on till May 16.
