Udyavara, 11 October 2011: On the occasion of Navarathri various cultural program competitions were held at Udyavara Shri Veeravittala temple and the prize distribution ceremony is conducted at the Shri Kshethra Auditorium. Udupi Shri Laxmivenkataramana Temple Managing Trustee P.V. Shenoy presided over the program and gave away the prizes to the winners and congratulated them.
Upon prize distribution P.V. Shenoy in his speech said that, the religious and cultural activities which are traditionally in practice are diminishing now a days. Through these various competitions the traditions and cultures are to be reminded and such programs should be conducted in all the devotions centers of the society. The elders should encourage the children for this, he said.
Chief Guests of the program Nirmala Shenoy – Manager of Corporation Bank Kuthpadi Branch and Kolcharu Vittala Prabhu conveyed their best wishes on the occasion. Various competition programs such as rangoli, cooking (new recipe), eulogy reciting, and fancy dress were conducted for children, youth and elders and the prizes were distributed to the winners. 15 students were given scholarships.
Kshethra Managing Trustee Nagesh Kamath introduced the guests and welcomed them. A.M. Hegde compeered the program. Rajgopal Kamath proposed vote of thanks.
