Brahmavara, 10 October 2011: Kudubi community which is educationally, socially and economically backward has urged the government to include their community into the Scheduled Tribes to avail the benefits of reservations, in a conference held at Narayanaguru Aduditorium in Kokkarne.
Karkala MLA H. Gopala Bandary who inaugurated the conference, Udupi MLA K. Raghupathi Bhat who presided over the program and Chief Guest Kundapura MLA Haladi Shrinivasa Shetty, assured that they will draw attention of the government in the Vidhana Sabha for the inclusion of Kububi Community into the Schedule Tribe category.
On this occasion 80 students of the community were distributed student scholarships. Native medicine persons Bella Nayak, Puttibai, Santhubai, Lakumibai and Thambdibai were also felicitated for their contribution to the society.

Poojary, Kokkarne Grama Panchayath President Devaki Sudhakara Kotyan, Member Laxmibai, State Kudubi Association President Mijaru Rama Gowda, Community Leaders Bella Nayak, Santha Nayak, Annappa Nayak, Babanna Nayak, Narayana Nayak, Ravi N. Belanje, Hebri Gopala Nayak, Ananda Nayak and Narayana Nayak were present in the program.
