Gangolli, 15 September 2011: A resident near Vinayaka Saw Mill in Gangolli drowned in the river on Monday night. The deceased is Manjunatha Kharwi (50) who was fishing with the nets on the boat at the Panchagavali rivier at night 8.00 pm. During the night at 8.15 pm suddenly heavy wind and rain came and Kharwi fell into the river.
 
Immediately other fishermen fishing nearby came and searched for him, but there was no clue of him. On Tuesday morning at 10.30 am Manjunatha Karwi’s body was floating on the river, the body and the boat has been handed over to his relatives. As per the complaint given by his soldier son Naga Kharwi the case has been registered in Kundapura Police Station.

 
 
Shirva, 15 September 2011: A pathetic incident of a boy hanging himself for the reason of being sick has taken place on Monday evening in Kallugudde Heroor grama. The deceased boy is Sanketha (14), who was living with his grandmother Shashikala. On Monday evening at 6.00 pm grandmother had gone to a place called Padoor to get eatables to his grandson. When she returned at 7.00 pm she saw that her grandson is hanging to a nylon rope and she screemed.
 
Immediately the neighbors cut the rope, but the boy was already dead. Sanketha was suffering from sickness from about a month and was admitted to the hospital in Udupi. Since he had blood pressure Doctors had told that he should avoid oily food, upset with this he has killed himself. As per the statement goven by the grandmother the case of unnatural death has been registered in Shirva Police Station.
