Belman, 06 July 2011: From the rural areas most of the students either go to government schools or to aided schools. So all the facilities given to the government schools should also be given to the aided schools, said Xavier D’mello – Member of Karkala Taluk Panchayath. He was speaking in a function held at St. Joseph’s aided school in Belman on Tuesday.
He said no child should be deprived from the education. For the implementation of the right of education for children the cooperation of parents is very important. People’s representatives also should cooperate in getting the facilities provided by the government. Teachers also play an important role in providing the quality education, he said.
Jilla Panchayath member Supreeth Shetty spoke and said that, when parents participate in large numbers in the school programs the government projects will get succeeded. Belman Grama Panchayath President Mallika Rao spoke and said that the Grama Panchayath is committed to the children’s education and the development of the school.
Rev. Fr. Lawrence D’Souza – Parish Priest of Belman Church presided over the function. On the dias Gregory Menezes – Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council, Grama Panchayath members; Geetha Prabhu, Prabhakar Shetty, Sr. Monica - School Headmistress were also present.
Teacher Juliana Moras welcomed the gathering. Teacher B. Pundalika Marathe Compeered the program. Teacher Lilly D’Souza proposed vote of thanks. Vincent Pinto cooperated in organizing the program.
