Malpe: Hotel owner abuses worker
A case of abusing by the hotel owner in Malpe on his worker is reported. Prasad Nayak a resident of Nilavara has been working in Hotel Shridurga owned by Anand Nayak, since 7 years as waiter. He used to work in the hotel from morning 03.30 am to night 08.00 pm, that means total 16 hours the owner was getting work by him. In return he was given stale food and eatables and a monthly salary of Rs. 2,500, mentioned in the complaint to the Udupi Court by Prasad.
Last March the salary was not paid. When he asked about it, the owner said that he will be paid with a monthly salary Rs. 3,500 and will pay together next month Rs. 7,000. In the month of May when he asked about the salary the owner slapped him on his face and abused with foul words. For this reason I left the work, now the owner calls me to come back to work. Owner says if I do not return he will file a case of stealing and if case should not be filed then he asks for Rs. 50,000 and blackmails me, Prasad has complained. Now as per the instructions by the Court, the case has been registered in Malpe Police Station.
Kaup: Money irregularity case registered on 8 people including Jilla Panchayath President
A case has been registered on 8 persons including Udupi Jilla Panchayath President. Jilla Panchayath President Katapadi Shankara Poojary and others, when they were the Directors of Bharathi Sauharda Credit Cooperative Bank in 2008 - 09, money irregularity has taken place, the Bank Secretary Shashidhara has now registered the complaint after so many years later.
In the complaint it is mentioned that, at that time the office bearers and staff; Kunjuru Vyasa Rao, Anatha Kamath, Devaraj Rao, Katapadi Shankara Poojary, K. Gokuldas Bhat, Ravish, Arathi, Ganesh pai had misused their power, cheated and committed irregularities cheating the members and the public and also betrayed the trust of the Bank, he mentioned in the complaint.
