Bangalore, 25 June 2011: JD(S) leader H D Deve Gowda today said he would stage a dharna in front of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa’s official residence here on June 27 to protest the "raw deal" meted out to his home district of Hassan by the BJP government.
In the last three years, Yeddyurappa has not released funds for development programmes in Hassan district, Gowda, who was elected to the Lok Sabha from Hassan, told reporters.
MLAs, MLCs and MPs will also join the dharna, Gowda said.
Earlier, Gowda had staged a dharna in Hassan on the issue on June 22.Gowda said he has written to Yeddyurappa seeking his intervention to cancel acquisition of 6.7 acres belonging to a private educational institution in Anekal taluk, which had been acquired and granted to Narayana Hrudalaya hospital "flouting" all rules.
The educational institution has been built on a private land of those running the institution and the government is trying to forcibly acquire it, though the dispute has reached high court, he claimed.
