Mangalore, 31 March 2010: From April 1, 2010 onwards, the electricity consumers (coming under Bank Clearing House region) can pay Mescom bills through Electronic Clearing System (ECS).
According to a press release issued by Mescom, those who opt for ECS will get a rebate of 0.25 per cent on the bill, which will be adjusted in the following month’s bill.
However, the consumers should have either a savings bank account or current bank account in any of the banks coming under the Bank Clearing House region. They should also have a R R Number in any of the following five sub-divisions which include No 1 sub-division, No 2 sub-division, No 3 sub-division, Surathkal sub-division and Ullal sub-division. To make use of the facility, the Mescom consumers will have to submit the Mandate Form (available in Mescom offices) to the respective banks in three copies. Bank will return two copies after verification. One of those copies should be submitted to the Mescom sub-division concerned.
