Auto Drivers – Owners picket before D.C. Office

Udupi, 29 May 2011: Price for the Auto spare parts has gone sky high, with this it becomes very difficult to run a auto rickshaw. Therefore the Auto drivers and the owners unions picketed before the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Udupi  on Saturday.

 

Recently the petrol price has increased, very soon the diesel price also will increase. With this the auto owners – drivers will have to face difficulties. Already the prices of the spare parts have increased considerably. After the diesel price increases the price for the spare parts will also increase. So the auto owners and drivers are in difficulty.

 

 

 

 

Meanwhile the auto drivers were providing very good service to the public. But today the drivers are loosing money, hence the rates have to be increased. The drivers and owners have submitted appeal to the Deputy Commissioner requesting the district administration to immediately revise the rates.

 

In the protest Jilla Congress Chief Secretary B. Narasimha Murthy, Udupi Jilla BJP President Udaya Kumar Shetty, BJP Yuva Morcha President Vilas Nayak, Former Taluk Panchayath member Kiran Kumar, APMC Vice President Bhaskar Shetty, Auto rickshaw Union Leaders; Maninder, Umanatha, Sunil Kumar and the drivers from various stands and the owners participated in the protest.
