Mangaluru: District Congress rich tributes to Ahmed Patel, passed away due to Covid-19

Mangaluru, 27 Nov 2020: Dakshina Kannada district Congress committee paid rich tributes to Ahmed Patel, treasurer of Indian National Congress and political secretary during the condolence meet held at Congress Bhavan, Mallikatte, here on Thursday November 26 morning.
Ahmed Patel was hospitalized after diagnosed as Covid-19 positive on October 1. He passed away on Wednesday November 25. He was a longtime associate of former PMs Indira Gandhi and Rajeev Gandhi, AICC president Sonia Gandhi. He was 3 times MP and staunch Congressman; never had greed for ministerial ambitions; instead strived to keep all Congressmen united, keep the rebellions in check throughout his political career of 40 years. He departed when Congress needed him the most as its reeling under internal tussle.
The former Karnataka minister Ramanat Rai garlanded the portrait of Ahmed Patel in the presence of district Congress president K Harish Kumar, veteran Congressmen and party activists who were present on the occasion.
