Udupi: Choma Naik (45), headmaster of Bantakal School dies due to cardiac arrest

Udupi, 16 Mar: Headmaster of a higher primary school at Bantakal, near here passed away owing to cardiac arrest, at Shirva, near here, while on his way in his motorcycle to office of block education officer (BEO), on Thursday, March 14.
The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Choma Naik, who was hailing from Manjeshwar in Kerala and working as headmaster since 4 years at Durgaparameshwari Higher Primary School, Bantakal, near here.
Choma suffered cardiac arrest near Bank of Baroda branch at Shankerpura, near here, whilst riding his motorcycle. He managed to stop the motorcycle besides the road and wailed for help. The shop keepers nearby heard the wailing and rushed to his help. They have offered him water and taken him to state-run community health center at Shirva, near here, where he was pronounced brought dead by the doctors.
He is survived by his wife and two children. He was working as teacher at Patla School, near Pernankila, Manjeshwar and was transferred to Bantakal as additional teacher.
BEO Manjula, ZP member Manjunat Nayak, TP member Geeta Wagle, School governing council president Manjunat Nayak, correspondent Sasidar Wagle, Bantakal gram panchayat member K R Patkar, past headmaster N Radhakrishna Prabhu arrived at community health center and paid tributes.
