Monthi Feast celebrations at Katapdi Church

Udupi, Katapadi, 8 Sep 2018: The Nativity of Mother Mary very popularly known as ‘Monthi Fest’ was celebrated at St Vincent De Paul Church, Katapadi on the 8th of September, 2018. As a preparation for the feast, Novena was started from the 30th of August. Every morning at 6.45 am, small children along with their parents brought flowers to be offered to Infant Mary.

 

 

On the Feast day at 8:00 am, all the parishioners gathered near the Grotto of Mary to offer the flowers. Fr Ronson R. D’Souza, csc, Fr Terence Abrenches, csc and Fr Agnelo Filinto,csc concelebrated the mass along with the main Celebrant Rev Fr Ravi Serrao, OFM CAP. The new corn was blessed during the celebration and distributed to everyone. After the mass, sugarcane and sweets were distributed to all.
