People enthusiastically partake in Kandodonji Dina, daylong rural games at Shankerpura

Udupi, 18 Jul 2018: At the joint aegis of JCI – Jasmine Shankerpura, Indian Senior Chamber, Udupi Temple City Legion, St John’s School alma mater – Shankerpura, Yuvaka Mandala ® Innanje, Yuvati Mandala®, Innanje, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) – Innanje, Billava Seva Sangha®, Kandodonji Dina, daylong rural games in silted farmland was held at Shankerpura, near here, on Sunday, July 15.
The retired teacher and Rotary district literacy Committee president B Pundalika Marate after inaugurating the event by unfurling the palm flower into rice measure said, ‘Joint families that thrived during agrarian societies are now become nuclear families that has distanced themselves on farming resulting in disused farmlands. It’s indeed noteworthy that te new generation gets heck of farming once during monsoon by planting rice sapling and later harvesting the crop.’
Indian Senior Chamber national vice president Chitra Kumar was the chief guest said social welfare organizations play key role in sustaining rural games.
SKDRDP Kaup zonal supervisor Prema said SKDRDP motivates youth to grow paddy in disused farmlands.
The organizer Navin Kumar Shankerpura in his preliminary address appealed the people to partake in daylong event who will be offered free food to all.
Sudhakar Poojary welcomed the gathering and presided the programme.
Yuvaka Mandala president Prashant Shetty, SKDRDP – Innanje president Subash Poojary, Billawa Seva Sangha president Ramanand Poojary Kallugudde, St John’s School alma mater – Shankerpura president Sylvia Castelino, auto rickshaw owners and drivers Association president Sudhir Shetty were present at the dais.
Rayan Mathias compered the programme. JCI sports and youth wing co-ordinator Santosh Kumar proposed vote of thanks.
Variety rural games were held for all for young and old.
