Udupi: Virtues of discipline & serving humanity makes one worthy – Abdul Khader

Udupi, 03 Apr 2018: Auto rickshaw drivers ought to be honest in maintaining the dignity of their profession and adhering to law in serving the society. The discipline and service oriented makes one truly humane, said Shirva police sub inspector Abdul Khader.

 

He was speaking after releasing barricades and bus time table that was donated by newly-formed B C Road auto rickshaw owners and drivers Association near Batnakal, here, on Sunday, April 1.

 

He further said, ‘The association enables to nurture leadership qualities. If the auto men wears uniform, has driving license, insurance papers in the vehicle, there will not be any legal issues.’

 

 

The retired teacher Pundalika Marate after inaugurating the newly-formed Association said that auto rickshaw drivers’ hail from poor families to sustain living. They need to strengthen the unity to help each other in difficulty.

 

The retired auto rickshaw drivers Edward D’Souza and Joseph Lobo were felicitated on the same occasion.

 

The veteran medical practitioner Dr K Prakash Bhat, entrepreneur Ignatius D’Souza, Bantakal auto rickshaw drivers and owners Association president Umesh Devadiga, Udupi district taximen Association vice president Vincent Castelino Palke, local entrepreneur Prakash Mathias were present at the dais.

 

Bantakal gram panchayat member and Association honorary president K Ramaraya Patkar presided the programme.

 

Association president Edward D’Souza honored the dignitaries with mementos.

 

The secretary Denis D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Sunil Alva compered the programme. Rachana, Deena and Rajashree rendered the prayers. The vice presdinet Sunder Bangera proposed vote of thanks.
