Mangaluru: Minister Rai instructs officials to finalize jurisdiction of proposed new taluks

Mangaluru, 27 Sep 2017: Karnataka forests and DK district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai advised Deputy Commissioner to discuss the issue of finalizing the jurisdiction of proposed new taluks of Moodbidri and Kadaba in DK district, with local peoples representatives including MLA.
Addressing the gathering of district revenue officers at DK district headquarters, here, on Tuesday, September 26, minister Rai said there are confusions among the people on the jurisdiction of new taluks. The inclusion of Gurpur hobili to Moodbidri taluk is opposed by Mangaluru north MLA. Meanwhile, it’s wise to act on other options of including a few villages of Gurpur hobli that are near to Moodbidri, said minister Rao.
He further said to finalize on jurisdiction of Moodbidri and forward the proposal at the earliest. The issue of including a few villages of Gurpur hobli, Mulky and Beltangady taluks had to be discussed with the peoples’ representatives, he advised.
He also advised to finalize the inclusion of a few villages of Uppinangady and Kokkada with Kadaba taluk.
He instructed PWD officials to identify state-owned land to build Mini Vidan Souda in the proposed Moodbidri and Kadaba taluks.
Moodbidri – Mulky MLA Abayachandra Jain, DK district Deputy Commissioner Dr K G Jagadeesh, ADC Kumar, ZP member P P Varghese Kadaba and others were present.
