Installation ceremony of NSS unit of SMVITM, Bantakal held

Udupi, 02 Sep 2017: The installation ceremony of the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, (SMVITM), Bantakal, near here, was held on August 30.

 

Pundalika Marate, retired teacher and journalist, the chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the program. During his inaugural address to the gathering, he opined that academic studies are providing theoretical knowledge, whereas units like NSS provide practical knowledge for life which is more important. He also encouraged the students of SMVITM to organize many activities under the aegis of the SMVITM NSS Unit.

 

 

Rathnakumar, secretary, SSVMET, Udupi presided the function. In his presidential address he said that all students must have definite and proper goals in the life and need to put in sincere efforts to reach their destination.

 

Dr B Radheshyam, head of department of civil engineering department, delivered his message on the occasion.

 

Kishor Kumar Aroor, Institutional NSS-YRC-RC coordinator, departmental coordinators Narayan Nayak, Ranjith Bhat, B N Ramachandra, Roshan B Kotian and heads of departments and section heads of various departments were present during the ceremony.

 

For the academic year 2017-18, Sandesh Kumar D was sworn in as the president, Pragathi Nayak as the secretary, Roydon Castelino as the treasurer and Ashish Prabhu as the vice president for the Unit.

 

The program commenced with the invocation by Kavya Bhat. Sneha welcomed the gathering. Disha Shetty presented a brief introduction of chief guest. Vaishali delivered the vote of thanks. The program was compered by Shika.
