Mangaluru: DYFI protests in Mudipu, seeking justice over suspicious death of Kavya

Mangaluru, 13 Aug 2017: DYFI – Mudipu unit led the protest at Mudipu, near here, on Saturday, August 12, urging the state administration to begin high level investigation on the suspicious death of Kavya, national badminton player and Class X student of Alvas High School, Mijar, Moodbidri.
Addressing the protesters, SFI district president Nitin Kuttar said, ‘The suicides and unnatural deaths are always occurring in Alvas Education Institutions. The ruling state administration seems unconcerned over the issue,’ said Nitin. He urged the state administration to investigate all the past deaths including Kavya and also investigate illegal activities in Alvas Education Institutions as per the recommendations of Ugrappa Committee.
DYFI Ullal zonal joint secretary Razak Montepadav said, Let Dakshina Kannada MP who is instigating communal hatred, light at least a agarbatti seeking justice for Kavya. Let the peoples representatives favoring the private institutions show their concern on behalf of Kavya,’ said Razak.
SFI district vice president Hamza Kinya said, ‘If the private education institutions that are run purely as commercial enterprises, will be taught a lesson by the sensible citizens of district,’ said Hamza. He also welcomed the Committee that was appointed by Deputy Commissioner to investigate the illegal activities that are prevalent in Alvas Education Institutions and urged the Committee not to be lured by vested interests.
The unit president Irshad Mudipu, secretary Zubair, Siddiq Mudipuila led the protest along with hundreds of activists.
