Justice for Kavya Horata Samithi may call Dakshina Kannada bandh on September 10

Mangaluru, 10 Aug 2017: A Dakshina Kannada district bandh would be called on September 10, if the police department fails to reveal the truth behind the mysterious death of state level Badminton player, Alva’s school student Kavya by the end of August 31,, 2017, said Dinakara Shetty, Convener of Justice for Kavya Horata Samithi speaking at a huge protest staged before Dakshina Kannada DC office on Wednesday in Mangaluru city.
Dinakara Shetty urged the state government for an impartial investigation into the mysterious death and to release Rs 25 lakh as compensation to family of the deceased.
Speaking in the protests organised, Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Mayor Kavita Sanil said, she came to participate in the protests as a member of civil society and urged the concerned authorities to answer some questions raised by the mother of Kavya, Baby on her daughter’s suspicious death. Mayor urged an impartial probe into the case and assured she would try her best to distribute Rs 25 lakh as compensation to Kavya’s family.
More than 4,000 protesters including parents of Kavya, students from various educational institutions in Dakshina Kannada, general public, members of various organisations and others took part in the protests after a huge rally. Vehicular movement in state bank area of the city stalled for more than 3 hours following the huge crowd.
