Rotary principles promote equality in society – M G Shetty

Udupi, 03 Jul 2017: Rotary Club International that is founded over a century promotes universal brotherhood among the people world over, based on equality by laying emphasis on health, education and housing for all people, thereby striving for the welfare of mankind, said Rotary former district assistant governor Molahalli Ganesh Shetty.
Ganesh was speaking during the installation ceremony of office bearers of Rotary Club – Shirva, at Rotary Auditorium, Bantakal, near here, on Saturday, July 1.
Rotary Foundation is empowering the poor and downtrodden in worldwide countries through humanitarian services, said Ganesh. Meanwhile, he appealed the Rotary members to contribute towards the humanitarian deeds of Rotary Foundation, said Ganesh.
Rotary Club – Shirva president Dr Arun Hegde presided the programme and welcomed the gathering.
The secretary Dattatreya Patkar read the report. The zonal commandant Navin Amin Shankerpura conveyed best wishes.
The zonal assistant governor Hariprakash Shetty released Rotary bulletin, Mallika on the same occasion. The editor of bulletin Raghupati Ithal was present.
The scholarship was presented to talented students on the same occasion.
Ummer Ismail, Abdul Latif Ummer Saheb and Philip Castelino took oath as new members. B Pundalika Marate, Melvyn D’Souza, Raphael Mathias, Honnayya Shettigar and Dr Gururaj were present.
Sudhakar Shenoy compered the programme. Rachita Patkar rendered the prayers. The new secretary Vishnumurti Saralaya proposed vote of thanks.
