Karkala: School unions/clubs prepare students to face challenges - Pundalika

Karkala, 24 Jun 2017: The syllabus is to get knowledge and earn marks, while different unions/clubs in the school help the students to develop self-confidence, courage, leadership qualities, exploring nature and moral values, thereby prepares them to face the challenges of life, said Pundalika Marate, Mangalore University senate member.
Pundalika was speaking during the inauguration of different unions: school cabinet, eco club, literary union, science union and young students movement and installation of new office bearers of St Joseph’s English Medium School, Belman, near here, on Thursday, June 22.
The School correspondent Fr Gregory Menezes called on the students to take active role in any of unions.
The school head teacher Lidia Aranha delivered the preliminary address. The school pupil leader Fiona Fernandes was present at the dais.
The school opposition leader Pranston D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Ashwit Tantri compered the programme. Sweety Premal proposed vote of thanks. The teachers Vidyasri R Nayak and Renita Fernandes were present.
