Bantwal: ACB sleuths nab village accountant red-handed while accepting bribe

Bantwal, 27 May 2017: A village accountant was arrested red handed while accepting bribe by the sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), near taluk office, B C Road, here on Thursday, May 24.
Gopilal, the village accountant of Fajir, near here, was arrested by ACB sleuths.
Gopilal had taken a bribe of Rs 3,000 from Mutalib to issue title deed for his 5 cents plot in Naringana village, near here, about 4 months ago. Meanwhile, Gopilal demanded further Rs 4,000 from Mutalib in this regard. Mutalib lodged complaint with ACB and accordingly the trap was laid on Thursday afternoon, while the sleuths arrested Gopilal when taking the bribe of Rs 4,000. He was taken to taluk office at Panemangaluru, where he was interrogated.
The operation was carried out on the instructions of DySP Sudhir Hegde by policemen Hariprasad, Umesh, Radhakrishna K, Radhakrishna P A, Prashant, Vaishali, drivers Rajesh and Ganesh.
