Bantwal: Assailants barbarously kill Karopady Gram Panchayat Vice Prez

Bantwal, 21 Apr 2017: A group of masked men barbarously killed vice president of Karopady gram panchayat, near here, at office, in broad-daylight on Thursday, April 20.
A Abdul Jaleel, vice president of Karopady gram panchayat and Congress leader was unfortunate to be killed by the masked men at the office. Jaleel was sitting in a chair at the Karopady gram panchayat when 4 masked men threw chilly powder and killed him with swords. The panchayat staff alerted others when the attackers fled in motorcycles. Jaleel’s brother Anwar had taken Jaleel who was lying in pool of blood to the hospital, where the doctors pronounced brought dead.
Western Range IGP P Harishekaran, SP Bhushan G Borase, Bantwal ACP Ravish C R, Puttur ACP Bhaskar Rai, Bantwal circle inspector Manjayya, DCIB sub-inspector Amanulla visited the spot and investigations are underway.
The fingerprint expert Gowrish gathered vital clues from the spot. Vittal sub-inspector Rakshit A K, rural sub inspector Umesh, Venoor sub inspector Lolaksha, Dharmasthala sub-inspector Koragappa arrived at the spot to guard the spot.
The police suspect the assailants form Kerala might have committed the heinous crime.
Jaleel is the son of Usman, who is the veteran member of Bantwal taluk panchayat who also followed his father in politics. He was not known to have any enmity and had cordial relations with all. He is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter. He also served as president of Karopady gram panchayat. The mystery shrouds over his barbarous killing.
Addressing the media persons IGP Harishekaran said that the assailants will be nabbed in 24 hours by forming teams.
