Minister Ramanath lays foundation for Bahugram drinking water project at Mani

Bantwal, 17 Apr 2017: ‘I had a dream of supplying drinking water to every household in my constituency. I focussed on this mission by implementing Bahugrama Yojana in gram panchayats of Karopady, Sarapady, Sangabettu, Narikombu, Mani and Sajipamunnoor. The cabinet has okayed drinking water project to both Sarapady and Narikombu gram panchayats. The project will be executed first at Mani,’ said DK district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai.
Minister Rai was speaking after laying the foundation for Bahugram drinking water project at Jogibettu in Peraje village that will supply water to Mani, Peraje, Anantady, Netlamudnoor, Kadeshwalya and Barimar villages, during the function held at Mani gram panchayat auditorium, here, on Sunday, April 16.
Bahugrama project is executed on experimental basis at Karopady and Sangabettu villages, said minister Rai. He also advised the people not to waste the treated water sourced from river.
ZP president Meenakshi Shantigodu, Bantwal TP president Chandrahas Karkera, vice president Abbas Ali, ZP members Manjula M Mave, M S Mohammed, Chandraprakash Shetty, Mamata Gatti and Padmashekar Jain, ZP CEO Dr M R Ravi, TP steering Committee president Dhanalaxmi C Bangera, district KDP member Jayanti Poojary, TP members Adam Kunhi, Manjula Kushala M and Geeta Chandrashekar, Bantwal APMC president Padmanabha Rai, gram panchayat presidents Mamata S Shetty, Pushpa Peraje, Vijaya, Shyamala Shetty, Vasant and Sanat Kumar Rai, rural development and cleanliness department executive engineer Ranganat Nayak, officers D R Nayak and Narendra Babu, contractor Anil Kumar Shetty and TP CEO Cyprian Miranda were present.
ZP member Manjula M Mave welcomed the gathering and delivered the preliminary address. Balakrishna Alva Kodaje compered the programme. Engineer Padmaraj proposed vote of thanks.
