Mumbai/Udupi, 23 Mar 2017: Authorities at Konkan Railway responded immediately and managed to trace a man who reportedly went missing from a train recently.
Teja Nayak, 40, from Udupi had gone to Mumbai as part of a group of folk dancers and was returning by Mangalore Express. Soon the group realized that Teja was missing and lodged a complaint on Konkan Railway’s WhatsApp helpline number.
The officials then launched a hunt for Teja along the route. They even contacted hospitals to check if they had any case regarding a train accident.
Finally, the CCTV footage at Roha station showed Teja getting off a coach; they then found him sleeping on a bench on the platform.
Teja got off the train at Roha to buy gutkha and missed the train; he knew only Kannada and hence was unable to communicate with the officials, it was said.
