Udupi: Vishwasadamane, Shankerpura reunites destitute woman with family

Udupi, 22 Mar 2017: Vishwasadamane orphaned rehabilitation centre, Shankerpura, near here reunited a 30-year-old destitute woman from Madhya Pradesh (MP) with her family, on Monday, March 20.
Kalavati was found besides the road on NH 66 at Katpady, living miserably, pelting stones on automobiles and passersby. Pastor Sunil D’Souza, chief functionary of Vishwasadamane brought her to the rehabilitation centre on December 23, 2016 and the treatment began for her mental ailments. She recovered her well being and expressed her willingness to return to her family in MP.
She shared her address with the staff at Vishwasadamane who wrote a letter to her kith in MP. Meanwhile, the letter reached them and her cousin called the orphanage that he will come to take her back home.
Her cousin Harihar Shukla arrived at Vishwasadamane on Monday, March 20, and was happy to see Kalavati who had left home 6 years ago. He said she was mentally ill and her husband also suffered her fate. They have searched for her nearly 6 years and given up hope of finding her. He was happy to take her back to the family.
He thanked Pastor Sunil and the staff at Vishwasadamane for giving new lease of life to Kalavati and headed to MP by train.
